At one of my happiest places on earth. Anyone who has followed the La Vida blog for some time knows what a special place Reves de Moutons is. Rachel and Renee knew that the first time they visited a few years ago for their farmstay. So when the time was right and they decided to tie the knot, they knew without a doubt that this was the perfect place for their Paso Robles farm wedding, surrounded by the herd and overlooking the rolling foothills of the Central Coast. They decided to get ready together, with a different kind of first look that still gave each of them some special time with their moms during the final touches of getting ready for the wedding day on the farm.
Love how supportive and awesome both of their mamas are! <3Renee was pretty stoked to see Rachel and that beautiful blush gown! Rachel stepped out for a bit while Renee had a few minutes with mom. So sweet!Love this moment of just taking a breath and connecting before they go into the day together. This is what it’s all about!Time to get these two out on to the farm and capture some of their love and pre-wedding energy. The majestic ancient oaks of Paso de Robles “Pass of the Oaks” makes me swoon a little! Happiness!! Rachel and Renee have an amazing circle of friends in San Diego! It was so great to be around so many people we had encountered at Janet and Nikki’s wedding! Lots of love and support among this group of family and friends which is always such a heart-warming thing to witness and document.
Special moments with the parents of these special ladies. This moment shared between Renee and her mom seriously gets me! We’ll revisit the cowboy hat a little later on here… So much farm goodness!!Well, this is something you just don’t get to do at every wedding… I didn’t want to tell Rachel and Renee, but I might have cried if they weren’t up for going in and hanging out with the sheepies. 😉
I see you Rose, peeking over at me there! It was fun to see some of my sheepie friends! They know me pretty well at this point and some of my favorites came over to say “Hello”. <3Had to share some of the fun details and setup for Rachel and Renee’s Paso Robles farm wedding along the way too. A little country, a little farm, a little shabby chic, a little wine country. Love it! As a special tribute to Renee’s father, they saved him a front-row seat at the ceremony, overlooking the beauty of the Central Coast as these two dedicated their lives to each other. Take a moment and just BREATHE… Lots of tears, laughter, and beautiful sentiments and stories shared. Love a good ring warming ceremony, giving the guests a chance to bless the couple with intentions of a beautiful and meaningful marriage and life together. Nikki did a beautiful job as their officiant and guide. I believe her aptly bestowed title was, “Profound Poet”. Then their parents gave some words of advice about what makes marriage work. And hilarity ensued!
This next series of images is the BEST as Renee’s mom reminded them…
NEVER GO TO SLEEP MAD. Yep, solid advice, for sure.
BECAUSE MAKE-UP SEX IS THE BEST.
Oh my goodness—so great! Everyone was rolling with laughter and high-fiving!MARRIED!!! And the first team-building exercise will be dodging paper airplanes.Good job, TEAM! We gave them a few minutes to appreciate the setting sun before joining the party. And PS: How amazing is that beer tap bar? The two of them spent the past year building that for their wedding! And please note the guitar fret tap handles. AMAZING and fitting since Rachel is a music therapist.
A lovely spot to spend the evening, surrounded by the hills, goats, and sheep. Time to get this party started!! The dancing shoes definitely went on after dinner!Sometimes it’s nice to just step back for a moment during your reception and absorb a few moments… And steal a little moment for yourselves along the way too! WHOOP! WHOOP! “I’VE GOT FRIENDS IN LOOOOOOOOOW PLACES.”
When your brides are from Texas and Kansas, this song is definitely a big hit in the crowd!Yeehaw!!Since Rachel and Renee aren’t huge cake fans, they opted for an ice cream truck who specializes in customized ice cream sandwiches and did a little toast with those. YUMMY and perfect for a 95 degree day on the farm!
Thank you, Rachel and Renee, for sharing your special day with us! You’re surrounded by so much love and support—great things are bound to come your way in the future as a couple. Wishes of sheep dreams and endlessly flowing Paso Robles wines for you in the years to come. Cheers! XOXO
