lani, john & the kids | bankers hill

Hooray for sessions with dogs!!

We met Lani’s extended family a while back at Balboa Park for a huge family session… she was so thrilled with the results that she hired us to document her immediate family as well! John and Lani’s boxers Pickles and Petey are like their children. Trust me when I say that we know exactly how they feel, as Mace is most definitely a close member of our family!

Here’s Pickles. Laying down quietly. This was probably the ONLY time she was still during the entire session! 🙂 Pickles is a total spaz, and we love her for it. It’s actually a lot of fun chasing dogs around for a good shot while they are playing. Pickles was a challenge, but we got her!

We showed Lani and John this slideshow last night before we went for fish tacos at El Zarape. I loved making it! 🙂

And here is Petey. He’s such a lover! A lot more relaxed than Pickles, but still has a lot of energy. He decided to show us how much grass he could eat in 10 minutes, followed by how much grass he could upchuck in 10 seconds. Ewww. We didn’t shoot that moment. Hee hee. 🙂

Lani and John are so cute with their pups! They REALLY wanted to get a shot of the two of them giving Petey a kiss on each cheek. Petey wanted that too.

Boxers are hilarious! They are very vocal and excitable, and their tongues are HUGE! We got lots of shots of just the Gene Simmons-esque tongues hanging out of the sides of their mouths. So funny!

A huge thanks for inviting us into your GORGEOUS home for another great session! We also truly enjoyed hanging out with you the other night for fish tacos and night bocce. Now that you have the hang of the weight of the boules, I have no doubt that the next time we play you will triumph. Call us for a rematch anytime! 🙂

  • Ashley - I just love this shoot! It must be my love for dogs as well – and knowing how difficult they can be to photograph, I definitely appreciate the photos even more! Great job!

  • Meaghan Schmaltz - Wow! What a great shoot! And look at those tongues… they must’ve been running all afternoon. Another great one guys! Nice job!

  • Emily Engle - Cute!!! It is SO hard to get great shots of dogs with the family so really awesome job!

  • Melissa - These are super duper awesome!!! Is it weird that I love the “butt” shots?

  • oneshotbeyond - They look so lovable…!

    Great session!

  • Zeynep - Hand sanitizer, kidlne, camera, perfume, gum, a small medical kit with eye drops, allergy pills, anti-itch (Katingko for the win!) and a small eco foldable bag since bawal ang plastic!! hehehe!
