Well, when you live in San Diego, you sometimes have a special knack for taking all that is San Diego for granted. This is paradise and a lot of people live to find their way out here, whether that is for vacation or finally having the chance to live here. Brandye and Jason were so excited to elope to San Diego from Illinois and declare their lasting love for each other out near the water’s edge. We were so honored to celebrate them with Ceremonies by Bethel at their San Diego destination beach elopement!
Brandye was so overwhelmed as things got started. It’s really, really happening!!!
But as you can see, Jason is her rock and keeps her grounded. She just need to see his smiling face looking back at her and the smile and laughter returned!
Then Jason started reading his vows to her… This time the tears came from Jason. And Brandye LOOOOOVED this, as you can see 😉
It’s always so fun to see when I’m deep in editing how the two of us capture the same moment from a different angle and perspective. Jeff capturing Jason losing it and Betsy getting Brandye’s sadistic giddy laughter at this taking place. Sounds about right!
Just another beautiful day in paradise!!
Meaningful words. Tears of joy and excitement. Laughter. And then uncontrollable giggles.
Pretty sure we know what part of Jason’s vows to Brandye hit right here…
Brandye, we have been through a lot since we got together. And all the happy times we have had I wouldn’t have wanted to experience them with anyone else. Over the years we have been together I have been able to get know you inside and out. I have learned how much of a loving, caring and dedicated person you are. which makes me love you more everyday that passes. I promise to be there with you in the worst and best that life can throw at us. I promise to always support you except when the sharks play the hawks. You are my best friend and being with you has made me a better man. I promise to give you everything I am and I can’t wait to go through life’s journey with you. Brandye I truly love you now forever and always.
From Brandye to Jason—
…In my darkest hour you were the light. I finally found someone who can keep up with me, deals with my down right stubbornness, and most of all deals with my crazy. I can’t always promise that we won’t fight or won’t wanna kill each other. But what I can promise is I’ll stand by you through everything life brings to us happiness, sadness, and every other emotion. I’ll take care of you when you need it. And I’ll give you a kick in the ass when you don’t feel like helping with household chores. You know I had to put that in there. I’ll always stand beside you through everything. We may never like the same sports teams or agree on every little thing but that’s okay because we are insanely un-perfect, but perfect for each other. I can never thank you enough for the love you give me and the support you give me. How you make me a better person for just being with you. Jason, I will love you forever and always. You are more than my lover you truly are my best friend. I can’t wait to continue this journey because the real party is just beginning. And even though what I am about to say used to be my mom and my saying I know that she would be so happy for me to share this saying with you today life has now become Berkeley, you, and I against the world and I would not want that any other way. I love you both so much.
Brandye’s Guardian Angels were definitely smiling down on the meaningful moments shared and cheering these two on as they become one.
One of the coolest things about intimate elopements is that 95% of the time, it’s just the couple, the officiant (most of the time that’s Bethel of Ceremonies by Bethel of course!), the seagulls, and us. That means Jeff and I Roshambo to see who the lucky duck is who serves as a witness. Jeff was the winner today 😉
How much do you love the absolute joy and giddiness these two shared in those post-ceremony glow moments?! Adore.
After these two made it official, we had the opportunity to explore the property at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay with them for portraits. During this time, it’s always so much fun to help them extend the excitement and emotions of the ceremony, keeping them in the moment and focused on each other and that shiny new married feeling 🙂
These two clearly have fun together!! Give me some sugar, SUGAR!!
Keeping those Guardian Angels close to her heart <3 <3 <3
Did we mention paradise? Love all those tropicals around the property to add a lot of variety and texture!
Time to get these two out to the water’s edge for the final portraits of the day. Such beautiful soft light in the final moments around sunset time.
Love Jeff’s shot on the right and then it’s always fun to see how we shoot the same moments in such different ways.
Brandye and Jason really did so great at just enjoying each other totally and completely. So happy and it just radiates from them!
Brandye and Jason—thank you SO much for inviting us to be a part of your personal and intimate elopement in San Diego! We had fun with you two and you made us feel like family from the get-go, which we appreciate and love! Congratulations and best wishes for all the good things to come ahead of you two. The joy you two share in each other is so obvious—never lose that!
