Aren’t Pam and Julian just *adorable*?
We think so too.
Just as we found with their engagement session, Pam and Julian are a TON of fun to photograph. They both live in Mammoth Lakes, where Julian is a snowboarding instructor and Pam works with the City Planning Department. Both of them tend to live life in a way that we totally agree with: live life to its fullest, and smile the whole way through. Julian has always kept us in stitches, and after we met all of his family on the wedding day, we saw where he gets it from! These two were absolutely meant for each other, and we were honored to photograph their beautiful union at Ocean View Villas down in Ocean Beach.
Pam and Julian’s “First Look” down on the cliffs. Pam’s facial expression is so great in this one: “Can I go get him now? Please?”![]()
And take a look at that DRESS! A really cute mini dress that was comfortable and stylish. We love the tie-dyed turquoise shoes too!
We think you two rock too!
Slideshow time! Enjoy.![]()
Some shots of the cool details at Pam and Julian’s wedding…starting with showcasing their rings on Julian’s guitar.
Such pretty colors on a splendid Saturday afternoon! Their coordinator and event designer, Carmin Cermak, did a FANTASTIC job of putting together festive decòr to perfectly suit Pam and Julian’s style. And she was nails with keeping everything on time and making sure everyone was happy. We also would love to give a shout-out for the delicious wild rice encrusted free-range chicken that Ohana Catering served for dinner. It was scrumptious!!
Pam and Julian opted to go with a “Bellini Bar” for all of their guests to enjoy. Traditionally, a bellini is a cocktail with sparkling wine mixed with peach purée, but this bar featured mango, berry and pear. They were DEEE-LISH. (Ours were virgin bellinis, of course. We don’t drink on the job!)
The two images below show the incredibly thoughtful gifts to Pam and Julian from Julian’s parents. They presented the happy couple with traditional Maori pendants made from a type of jade that can ONLY be found in New Zealand. While I can’t completely remember the entire story of each piece (we were a little busy photographing), I do remember that one signified an intertwining symbol of family, while the other signified the true heart of a Maori warrior: courage, strength and honor. Julian’s parents were so proud to give all the guests a little history of Maori culture, and these pieces meant the world to both them as well as Pam and Julian. So thoughtful, so meaningful, so perfect for this day!
The bridal party were also given Maori necklaces and earrings made from Paua shells, which closely resemble abalone. Paua is also something that you can only get from New Zealand. How cool is *that*?
We took a little walking tour around Ocean View Villas and found some fun scenery, light and backgrounds right after the ceremony. I think Pam and Julian wanted to stop in for a smoothie.![]()
LOVED the bridesmaid dresses. The punch of coral and turquoise blended perfectly with all of the flowers and decorations of the day.
So, on the way back to the reception, we stop for one of Betsy’s infamous ‘just one more’ shots and this big lovable lab came over to get a sniff of Pam’s beautiful bouquet. Too funny!
Gotta love a cupcake tower… there was a huge variety of really cute cupcakes all decorated uniquely. Fabulous!
Pam and Julian have a great time together and it shows. They were just giggling and have a grand ol’ time during their first dance as husband and wife. Such life in these two!
The happy couple was surrounded by friends and family from all over the world on their wedding day and everyone was SO EXCITED for them!
You will recognize the Australian couple in the picture below (middle left) in our next blog post. They saw Pam and Julian’s engagement session and wanted to do one as well while they were here on holiday. Nice to meet you, Jay and Fran!![]()
Pam and Julian, you guys are an inspiration. The way you act with each other, the way you look at each other… all couples should share that love. Your wedding day was picture-perfect, and we can’t wait to share the rest of the images with you! And thank you so much for the bottle of wine with you custom label. We enjoyed the wine the other night, and will be keeping the bottle as a reminder of how awesome you guys are.![]()
It was an honor to photograph your wedding, and we were thrilled to meet your friends and family! We’ll see you this winter for some skiing (We can’t snowboard. We just fall on our arses whenever we try). Talk soon!
