Meet Kara and John!
This very sweet couple approached us a few months ago to document their big day, and we were honored to help them out!Kara was so sweet… she kept saying things like: “It’s a totally small wedding”, “Just a few guests”, and you probably won’t put the images up in your portfolio.” What Betsy and I decided long ago is that EACH AND EVERY wedding is a big deal. Twenty guests or 200 guests, 100K budget or 1K budget, loads of details or just a few flowers… we are ALWAYS honored when our couples find us and want us to provide imagery on their most special day.
It’s not about the size of the wedding.
It’s about the people, the connections, the families and the moments.
Kara and John chose the San Diego Botanic Garden (formerly known as the Quail Botanical Gardens) up in Encinitas for their lovely ceremony and intimate luncheon. It was a very pretty day, and even though it sprinkled a bit, everything was so lovely…especially the glowing bride!
Before the ceremony began, we were able to spend a few minutes with Kara and her lovely Mom. Lots of giggles and smiles shared between these two. Such a sweet relationship!
John…looking SHARP, my man!
There were so many great little moments with Kara and John’s families. Everyone was very excited to be there!
A quick and meaningful pre-ceremony prayer with Kara’s childhood minister.

Absolutely stunning, Kara!!
Awwww… We love to see people feeling the love.
John anxiously awaited his lovely bride as she walked down the aisle of the Lawn House Garden.
Holy cow! We’re MARRIED!!! Whooohooo!!!
So the sprinkles didn’t show up until just before we had some time to take the newlyweds out for a few quick portraits. Thankfully, we LOVE shooting with umbrellas! We had a great little parasol as well, but it didn’t like the rain as much as the other umbrella. Hee hee. It totally melted.
Don’t you just love how giddy and happy these two are despite the rain? We LOVE it!!
Kara and John…
Thank you so much for inviting us into your lives! Enjoy your wedded bliss, and we’ll be chatting more soon!
