Joan and Norm, a previous fab La Vida Couple (engagement | wedding), celebrated the birth of their darling baby girl, Ruby! We were excited when Joan contacted us to redeem their big prize from our L.O.V.E. Contest that we held last year. They wanted to wait until little Ruby had entered the world, so that they could enjoy their very first family portrait session together.
On to the “Awwwwwwww”!
Ruby was either asleep or calm & groggy for nearly the entire session, which is wonderful for newborn photos.
Expressive babies are so much fun to watch! See how she looks up at her family? Totally cute.
So, many of you noticed my (Jeff’s) Facebook status regarding baby poop. Yep! Ruby left me a little present on the floor, and I accidentally stepped in it. Thankfully, her grandma noticed immediately before I had the chance to track it around the upstairs. Just a few wipes of my shoe, and the session was back in swing!

Joan and Norm make a really good team, and we have no doubts that they will both be outstanding parents!

Grandma was also there to help Joan and Norm soothe and take care of Ruby, which was so great!
“N.J.B.G.” stands for Norm, Joan, and Baby Girl.” Eventually, They will be putting up an “R” for Ruby”; they had bought these well before their decided on the name “Ruby.”
CAUTION: DIVA IN TRAINING!
Imelda Marcos would be proud of Ruby’s shoe collection. I imagine that is is very hard to pass up a cute new pair of shoes for the baby when you see ‘em. We don’t have kids, but we still find baby shoes totally adorable!
Joan and Norm, big congratulations to you and your family! Ruby was a perfect model, and she was a lot of fun to photograph. Can’t wait to see how much she will have grown for your next session!
