Say “Hello” to Janell and Matt!
This adorable couple was the lucky recipient of Bridal Insider’s Ultimate San Diego Wedding for 2012! Betsy and I were so honored to be chosen as the principle photographers for the Ultimate San Diego Wedding (co-sponsored by Star 94.1) this year by one of our favorite San Diego Wedding Coordinators, Courtney Tibbets with After the Engagement. We recently spent some time getting to know this lucky couple during their engagement session down in Mission Beach.

We decided to begin their session with a quick drink down by the famous Belmont Roller Coaster…ya know, just to take shake out those first picture jitters
Yep, life in San Diego is pretty rough during those harsh winters… hammocks and Coronas. How do we cope?!
Well, there is the snuggling up that helps a lot!
Once you read their story, you’ll understand more, but these two share a special bond that grows from a lot of the things they’ve gone through together in the past four years. They’re so comfortable around each other and pretty inseparable, which we like
On to a little carnival fun over at Belmont.
And a little friendly competition. And bantering. And teasing. These are the things that keep relationships light and fun and full of life. Well, we like to think so!!

Chasing light and finding cool backgrounds… it’s one of our favorite things! And our couples are so great that they go along with pretty much anything we ask of them, even if it involves cruising down backroads and alleys. Love it!
Can’t get much more “San Diego” than the boardwalk down in Mission Beach! Best part of shooting there in December: NO CROWDS and GORGEOUS WINTER SUNSETS! (oh, and parking is awesome in December too!)

The sunset was awesome that day… it kept changing every minute with so many different color schemes!
Love how Matt makes Janell giggle and smile, even when it’s freezing outside!
Did we mention how rough those San Diego winters are???
Janell and Matt, thanks for taking time to hang out with us, get comfortable in front of our lenses, and brave the brisk afternoon so that we could capture some wonderful images of the two of you and your love!
