Picnic in the park!
Heather and Michael found us through the super talented and fun Courtney Tibbets with After the Engagement. She is an awesome wedding coordinator/designer, and we are so happy that she thought of us for Heather and Michael’s wedding! We totally enjoyed our time with these two…they are the perfect combination of logical and fun, mixed with a small side of geeky (you all KNOW how geeky we can be!). Heather and Michael are both lawyers living up in L.A., getting married down in lovely San Diego next year. We were stoked that they were up for a fun themed shoot to tell more of their story (which we LOOOOOOVE!!!). So, with the super creative Courtney on board to help design a perfect setting for these two lovebirds, we started with their mutual love for Starbucks (more on that in a bit…) with their love for “just hanging out” and created a beautiful fall picnic setting.
Heather and Michael are getting married on Cinco de Mayo of 2012, and so Courtney found these colorful Papel de Picado flags to hang above the picnic grounds. Perfect!!
The coffee and bagels represent Michael’s first attempt to woo Heather back in Law School at UC Hastings. He brought her coffee beans and bagels before their first classes. Heather was a tad nervous, so as she was pressing the coffee, there was a mini-coffee explosion, which Michael thought was cute, even though Heather was so embarrassed! Sounds like something we would do.![]()
Snuggling up with lattes…life is good!
What better way to pass the time at a lovely picnic amongst the pretty trees than to break out a game of Scrabble?
As One-Ls at Hastings, it was important for Heather and Michael to find fun, yet inexpensive things to do with each other as their relationship blossomed. Betsy and I love board games too, so when the Scrabble set came out we were stoked!
Heather just has the sweetest smile!
Michael broke out his guitar for awhile after the picnic. He gave us his best Elvis impersonation {we’re saving those for just the two of them
}…rock it on out, man!
He often plays for Heather, so we loved how they just totally relaxed once they were wrapped up with the guitar.
They make beautiful music together.![]()
It’s clear how Michael makes Heather feel when she’s wrapped up in his arms. Love these!!
The four of us cruised down to La Jolla Shores to wrap up our session together for a little “San Diego Portraiture”. We stayed up on the boardwalk due to the massive influx of those pesky little sand flies. Gross! We still managed to have a blast as Michael kept his lovely lady nice and warm. After we wrapped up, we all headed over to Barbarella Restaurant for some delicious wine, risotto and pizza. Yum!
Heather and Michael, it was such a pleasure working with you guys! We can’t wait for the big day next year, and we hope to one day play a game of Scrabble with you guys over a nice bottle of wine!![]()
