¡Olé!
Eeva and Edgar, one of our 2012 La Vida Couples, met us for some fun engagement images down in Old Town, San Diego. One of their fondest memories when they were dating was a walking tour sampling margaritas and tacos from various restaurants, which was a great story of how they always have fun together. We figured, what better place to pay homage to that than Old Town?! We were so thrilled when they found us through their good friends Pam and Julian (who we just adore, btw!). Remember them?![]()
We started off at The Living Room for a quick glass of wine and some good conversation before we actually started shooting. We had a really nice time getting to know them a little better while they sipped on their wine. Eeva is the proud new owner of Bikram Yoga in Mira Mesa (can’t wait to go try a class there!), and Edgar is a talented DJ (DJ Gar Gar) down here in San Diego.
Eeva met Edgar while he was DJing her friend’s wedding. Eeva told her cousin that she thought the DJ was cute, so the cousin (of course) started prodding Eeva to go over and say “Hello.” Eeva decided to go over to Edgar’s table to say “Hi”, but she also snapped a quick picture of him (she thought she would never see him again, so she just snapped away!). A while later, Edgar found Eeva on Facebook and they talked long-distance, learning more and more about each other with each day. We love wedding stories that turn into something meaningful and lasting! How great is that?!
One thing that they both mentioned to us individually is that they love each others’ smile and laugh. And that’s precisely what they did during the entire session!
After we played around in Old Town, we took these two over to one of our favorite spots to shoot in Little Italy, The El Camino Restaurant.
“Eeva. play around with his tie for a bit”
For some reason, this sent them both into hysterics, which we were totally cool with!
Love those playful in between moments!
Rock it on, girl!!
And Edgar did just the same… bring it!
One more spot… we found a really cool old wooden bench right outside Bedford Built, home to designer crafstman Joseph Bedford. Joseph is a master woodworker that was nice enough to allow us to shoot around the front of his studio for a little while.
Joseph’s dog came out for a moment, gave Eeva’s foot a quick lick, and promtly went back inside to his bed. Edgar: think that’s another sign that you two need a dog![]()
How cool are these old airplane seats?!? WANT.
And since we were right across the street, we HAD to go take a few quickie shots in front of Botanica, one of San Diego’s premiere wedding florist studios. We have always loved the huge roll door in front and cool warehouse exterior with exquisite displays inside.
There’s that laugh again! We love these guys.![]()
Eeva and Edgar:
You both did such a great job modeling for us! We can’t wait to go out to dinner with you guys soon, and we just know that your wedding at Diamond View Tower is going to be absolutely beautiful! We also look forward to visiting the new yoga studio in the new year, for sure!!
PS: love that Eeva wore the shoes she was wearing on their first date to their engagement session… that deserves a special shoutout!!![]()
