Oh, how we love fun couples and beautiful venues!
Allyson and Paul, a cute and fun-loving couple who we met through their Coordinator Amy Vargas, chose a beautiful location for their wedding… Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa. Estancia is located smack dab between UCSD (our old stomping grounds) and the ocean, right around the corner from Torrey Pines. We love Estancia for their variety in locations to shoot, as well as their MAGNIFICENT customer service. Everyone who works there is an absolute pleasure to talk to!
We were so excited to be there for Allyson and Paul… these two just ooze kindness.![]()
LOVE Allyson’s ruffled dress!
Paul was all ready for the 4:00 ceremony… Allyson had given him this antique pocket watch as a special wedding gift (built in 1911 I think? Still works!).
These two must’ve been feeling each other’s presence… both shot in different locations, about 10 seconds apart.
Alllyson’s mom was blown away when she saw her in her dress for the first time… a pretty emotional couple of minutes there![]()
Paul’s eyes are always wide-open and bright, but when he finally saw Allyson in that dress for the First Look, you can really see into his heart!
Yep. Giddy.![]()
Paul just can’t seem to take his eyes off of his lovely bride-to-be!
There was so much emotion just before Dad walked Allyson down the aisle… they were chatting and sharing life stories together.
The men all stood waiting anxiously for Allyson’s march down the aisle…
The Olive Lawn at Estancia is such a lovely, intimate ceremony spot!
The ceremony was so meaningful, and for us too! Pastor Bill Maury-Holmes did a wonderful job of infusing humor within the ceremony. One thing that really stood out to Betsy and me was the inclusion of readings from the Song of Solomon… scripture we haven’t heard at a wedding since our own nuptials 12 years ago! So cool to hear those poetic passages again.![]()
You BET I do!
There is nothing quite like capturing a moment when the newly-wed couple doesn’t even know you are there. Great shot, Betsy!
Cute kids!!! Allyson and Paul love spending time with their nieces and nephews. Such a fun groups of kiddos and so good natured!
First Comes Love did a lovely job putting together the Grande Room at Estancia in eggplant and silver, accented by Allyson and Paul’s little travel-themed touches!
Looks like they practiced their “dip” a bit before the big day. During the last part of their Engagement Session near the US Grant, there may have been an “oopsie”. Hee hee! Sorry guys, had to do it.![]()
Hooooooray for the bride!
Some great stories and moments shared during the toasts…
Such pride and love shown on both Allyson and Paul’s families’ faces all day. You can just tell how perfect everyone sees that these two are for each other.
I heart this shot at twilight with the fog rolling through La Jolla. So romantic!
It is always so much fun to work with DJ Jerry Beck. He really knows how to get the dance floor moving! Allyson’s dad has been practicing the Electric Slide for months prior to the wedding so that he could dance it with his daughter. How awesome is that?
Jerry then mixed it up a little and taught everyone the “Stoico (his last name) Shuffle”!
“Now walk it by yourself, now walk it by yourself…”
Big love to Allyson and Paul! Thanks again for including us in your beautiful day and a big hearty congrats to the two of you! We are looking forward to enjoying a nice dinner with you guys once you get settled! <3
