Samantha and Chris are two lovely people who found each other in high school and continued their love (and education) at UC San Diego. So what better place to shoot their engagement session than their alma mater!
Betsy and I also met at UCSD, so we were so happy when Samantha and Chris thought to shoot there! There are so many great and unique spots on the campus… from a giant chicken statue to a library that is rumored to have been used as a spaceship in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. And yes, I am aware that the Giant Chicken (known as the Sun God) is actually a really cool sculpture created by Nikki de St. Phalle. ![]()

Popcorn and soda time. Here comes a slideshow!
Chris spent a lot of time here at the engineering building. I bet he never had much time to notice the pretty colors in the trees! Study, study, study…

The huge walkway between York Hall and Bonner Hall is designed to look like a DNA strand when viewed from below. How many double-helices have YOU walked down lately?![]()

Awwww. They are so sweet with each other!![]()

Of course we had to take a few shots out by Stonehenge, a really neat sculpture garden out in Revelle College. Samantha and Chris were lit up so nicely over there!

Reflections in the Price Center Fountain. It wasn’t running that day, so the water was perfectly still. We also loved the pretty leaves!

Geisel Library. Yes… that Geisel.
We loved that Dr. Seuss (Theodore Geisel) and the Cat-in-the-Hat are looking over at Samantha and Chris.![]()

Samantha and Chris, thanks so much for hanging out with us at our old stomping grounds! We had a blast finding some great spots around campus to tell your story. We are looking forward to shooting your wedding next year. Talk to you soon!![]()
