THESE TWO!!! I’ve been looking forward to Audrey and Chris’ outdoor summer camp wedding at the Girl Scouts San Diego headquarters for quite awhile. I was totally smitten with them the minute I met them. They’re ridiculously in love and share such affection and mutual respect for one another. These things make me happy! They each took a few minutes for the finishing touches on their wine ceremony notes which will be stored away with a great bottle of wine for future enjoyment. The two of them shared one of the cabins as they got ready. It was quite the fun group! They were just separated by a soft wall. Which allowed for this ridiculously adorable moment they shared right before they got into their dresses for their first look. I mean, come on! How can you not love them together? Love. Love. LOVE! Time to get these lovely ladies in their dresses! I love it when both of my brides wear dresses. It’s so fun! All hands were on deck to help with the process and cheer Audrey and Chris on. What a rad group of ladies!! Audrey wore a pendant on the inside of her dress that was a very important piece that Chris wore throughout high school. Time for the first look. The two of them took this time really seriously ahead of time to ensure that it was private and just for them. And they were so emotionally honest and 100% themselves with one another, Annie and I were holding back the tears behind our cameras. GAH!!
I took a few minutes with Audrey to help prepare her for her time with Chris. Tears, laughter, and anticipation. They took a few deep breaths to get grounded with one another and turned to see each other. I don’t think I need to say anything else here…After they got past the first round of the range of emotions, this happened and just cracked us up!! Chris was just beside herself! Audrey and Chris really share a tenderness that is inspiring. It’s been so fun to capture for them so that they can see how beautiful it is to the rest of the world. And then we met their moms <3
Both of their moms were so ecstatic for the two of them to get married and there is nothing more awesome to see than parents who are jumping out of their skin waiting for all this to happen. All the feels!! At the Girl Scouts headquarters, there’s a gigantic treehouse, which of course, we had to play on. Perfect little getaway from the final party preparations going on below. These two really have a lot of fun and laughter with one another! Nothing will elicit a genuine smile like looking over at your future spouse doing a little pole dance for you. LOL. Good job! Audrey and Chris took a few minutes to practice their first dance before their hilarious and energetic wedding party joined them in the treehouse. We had such a blast with this whole group!!Audrey is a talented architect and designed the new cabin at the site, so we definitely had to capture a little of that flair. Love this upstairs loft! It’s the raddest! And their friends were nice enough to create a surprise honeymoon suite for them in a corner of the loft as they were planning to have a big sleep over with all their friends after the wedding. So sweet!
Ceremony time!! Everyone was beyond ecstatic to see these two tie the knot! Every person that came down the aisle was greeted with cheers and clapping. Now that’s the way to enter life together! Such a unique and beautiful rustic setting right in the middle of the city. Brilliant! These two share the best sense of humor. So many laughs and genuine joy! And Chris’ mom was about ready to jump out of her seat with excitement <3 Seriously, so sweet. MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I absolutely love the opportunity to hang back and see what unfolds in those private moments right before the grand entrance. There’s a unique energy during those moments and it’s so great when my couple takes this time to be present and take it all in! And then Audrey picked a daisy for Chris on the way in to the reception. Adorbs!!Everyone was so excited to be there and start the big celebration, starting with their official first dance and a huge Italian family style meal by the amazing Buona Forchetta. They even had a gelato truck later. The food was EPIC!! Something I’ve noticed photographing these two is the depth of their relationship and those quiet little touches and interactions that exhibit that as all theirs and theirs alone. Their toasts were so meaningful, hilarious at times, sweet and a great reflection of how important they are to their peeps. And of course, some really wonderful parent dances are a must! And that’s how ya get a cake cut, people!! Then their wedding party started a ‘cake song’ processional. Too much!! Annie and I were just looking at each other cracking up while we captured the flavor of it. Such a hilarious group!!LET’S GET THIS PARTY STARTEEEEEEEEEEED!! Audrey and Chris, thank you SO much for inviting me into your lives to capture your amazing love and big day! I have seriously enjoyed getting to know you two and hope to see you again for more laughs and real talk. You two are the bees knees!!!
